Ai2CG Plugin version 1.0 (preview)

This plugin for Adobe Illustrator (Mac) was inspired by the Ai->Canvas plugin by Mix Online.

Ai2CG will export Objective-C Core Graphics (for iOS) code from an Illustrator document. (It creates a drawRect: method that you can cut-and-paste into your custom view.)

Compatibility: Ai2CG is compatible with Mac OS X only. It should be compatible with Illustrator CS3 - CS5.1 on OS X 10.6 and 10.7. I have only tested it so far on CS3 on 10.7 and CS5.1 on 10.6. This plugin will work with Adobe's 30-day trial version of Illustrator, so you can try it out if you don't own a copy.

Installation: Copy AI2CG.aip to your Adobe Illustrator Plugin folder. Typically it's located at /Applications/Adobe Illustrator CSx/Plug-ins.

Use: After installing this plugin, restart Illustrator. Select Export on the File menu, then select Core Graphics as the export file type.

Features: Supports many features of Illustrator drawings: bezier curves, solid/gradient fills, layer clipping paths, compound paths, graphic styles, embedded raster images, blends. Some items (including text) that are not directly supported yet are converted to PNG images at 1x and 2x resolution. There is a test document included with examples.

Please note that this is just the initial preview release of this plugin. I'm sharing it because I have found it useful for my own work, and before improving it I'd like some feedback from other developers. Please contact me with any requests or comments.
